Description

Starborn is a work born from transformation.

The painting originated from an unfinished canvas by Paolo Amoretti, whose underlying composition remained as a silent structural trace. From that foundation, Ilaria Berenice developed the painting by engaging with and responding to the underlying composition, allowing the work to emerge as a layered presence shaped through dialogue, transformation, and continuity.

What emerges is a luminous figure suspended between inner and cosmic space. The face appears illuminated from within, surrounded by a deep, nocturnal field scattered with marks that evoke stars, memory, and the vastness of inner experience. Color and texture accumulate in layers, suggesting both fragility and strength — a presence shaped through renewal rather than erasure.

Starborn speaks of rebirth: the moment in which something overlooked or abandoned becomes the ground for new meaning. The work carries within it the quiet memory of what came before, while fully asserting its own voice and identity.

The original artwork has been acquired by a private collector in Italy and is no longer available.
